Privacy policy.
How MzansiHub handles personal information when you browse, register, send enquiries or manage a local business listing.
Effective: 9 October 20261. Who is responsible for your information?
MzansiHub is the online platform responsible for handling personal information provided through this website. Contact our privacy team through the contact form using “Privacy or POPIA request”. The legal name and registered contact details of the responsible party must be completed by the operator before launch where applicable.
2. What information do we collect?
Information may include names, email addresses, phone numbers, login and account details, business listings, enquiry messages, customer requests, listing photos and ownership verification records such as identity and company registration documents. Technical data may include IP addresses and security logs. We do not ask you to submit unnecessary sensitive information in enquiry forms.
3. Why we process it
We use information to provide accounts and listings; respond to messages; manage optional startup, company registration, tax and B-BBEE assistance enquiries; review business claims; publish information you choose to share; detect misuse; operate the platform; and meet lawful obligations. We process only what is reasonably necessary for these purposes.
4. What other visitors can see
Business listings and published marketplace adverts are public. If you post a “Looking For” request, your supplied contact details can be displayed publicly to help service providers reach you. Please do not include private information you do not want others to see. Private identity and CIPC documents for ownership claims are restricted to administrators.
5. Email and service providers
Submitted registration, contact and business-startup enquiry information may generate administrator email alerts using our configured mail provider. Hosting, email and Cloudflare services may process the technical information needed to deliver the website and protect it. Maps use OpenStreetMap tiles, and external links have their own policies.
6. Cookies and security
We use an essential login session cookie and basic preferences such as site theme. Reasonable safeguards are used, including access restrictions, HTTPS when properly deployed, and restricted claim documents. No website is completely risk-free.
7. Retention
We keep information only while reasonably necessary for site operation, enquiries, business verification, lawful obligations and security. A documented retention and deletion schedule should be finalized before launch. You may request correction, account data access or deletion where permitted by law.
8. Your rights
Subject to South African law, you may ask for access, correction or deletion of personal information, object to certain processing or raise a complaint with the Information Regulator. Use our privacy request form. You can also learn more from the Information Regulator.
9. Changes
We may revise this policy as features change, and will publish updated text and an effective date.
